Our work spans across South Asia, Africa, and South America, where we collaborate with governments, development institutions, and industry to turn policy ideas into outcomes.
Alongside regional programs, the Center leads several cross-regional initiatives that connect research, policy, and investment across the Global South:
- Global South Transport-Energy-Materials (G-STEM) Model. A new transportation–energy–materials modeling system that integrates vehicle supply and demand with electric vehicle and battery supply chains, including mineral supply and demand dynamics
- Accelerating Urban E-Mobility Solutions. A partnership with the World Bank to design and deliver a new program that aims to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility in urban environments, particularly in low- and middle-income countries
- Council for Critical Minerals Development in the Global South. A Global South–led platform to support policymaking and catalyze partnerships that enable governments to advance ambitions for local value creation, secure critical minerals and technologies required for energy transition and green growth goals, promote sustainable and inclusive transitions and develop unified vision and policy approach for critical minerals
