  • California–Africa Climate and Economic Partnership. ITS-Davis, in partnership with the State of California, founded the California–Africa Climate and Economic Partnership, a unique collaboration with the Governments of Kenya and Nigeria, expanding cooperation with Africa on clean energy, agriculture, and sustainable transportation
  • Secretariat of the California-Kenya MOU. ITS-Davis (Global South Center) has been appointed as the Secretariat for implementing the objectives identified under the MOU signed between California Governor Gavin Newsom and H.E. President William Ruto of Kenya. The institute will support research and policy collaboration on clean energy transitions and climate adaptation between California and Kenya, and partner on pilot projects across zero-emission vehicle deployment, renewable energy integration, sustainable agriculture, digital innovation, and the creative economy
  • Africa Clean Transportation (ACT) Initiative.  The initiative, launched by the center, will partner with the Government of Kenya, Universities and local institutions to build a Sustainable Transportation Center of Excellence in Kenya, in service of the African Union and the continent, to advance the shared goals of delivering safe, efficient, sustainable, and equitable transportation
  • Fuel Economy Standard Design. The Center has been appointed as a technical partner of the Vehicle Efficiency Working Group (VEWG), led by the Kenyan State Department for Transport, to accelerate the e-mobility transition and improve the fuel economy (FE) of on-road vehicles. It is leading the analysis for the country’s first-ever FE standard design for light-duty vehicles (LDVs) and building the technical capacity of VEWG members while also supporting policy development to enhance EV adoption in the two- and three-wheeler segments and improve the FE of medium-and heavy-duty trucks
