Simon Duex

Simon is a Graduate Student Researcher at the Institute of Transportation Studies in Davis and a M.S. and PhD candidate in Energy Systems. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering and is focused on Electric Vehicles, Lithium-Ion Batteries, Critical Minerals and Industrial Ecology. He is also a member of the Resources for the Future Critical Minerals 25/26 cohort.
Simon’s research focuses on critical mineral supply for the clean energy transition and vehicle electrification. He also works on modelling strategies to reduce demand for critical minerals to enable a successful and sustainable transition.
