Bio

Rijhul Ladha is an urban policy professional focusing on transport and e-mobility. He works as a Research Associate at India ZEV Research Centre, Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California Davis. His key areas of work include transport policy and e-mobility focusing on road freight decarbonization.

He is trained as an electrical engineer and holds a M.Sc. in urban policy and governance. Prior to this, he worked with the World Resources Institute (WRI) India on just transition for skilling in the Indian automobile industry focusing on the 2W and 3W vehicle segment. He has also worked with The Urban Lab, Ahmedabad, India on assessing urban poor mobility and parking policy in Indian cities. Prior to his masters, he worked as an engineer in HPCL Mittal Energy Ltd., Bathinda, India supervising the testing and commissioning of electrical substation equipment in the petrochemical unit.

He has fieldwork experience across different regions in India. He has presented his thesis on ‘Evaluating Transit-Oriented Development as a planning strategy in Indian cities’ at an international conference on sustainable urban development in Global South organized by Institute for Human Development.
